These types of loaders are often used in aquaculture farms for feed in large bags – Big Bags. By using a hoist, the silos are refilled from the top.
Pneumatic loaders are an ideal aid when the feed storage tank is located far from the silos used to feed fish or shrimp in farm tanks.
Pneumatic loaders for aquaculture use air to transport feed from a central position to the silos in the feeding system. To optimize this system, a selector can also be used, allowing the loading of not just one, but multiple silos.
The use of pneumatic loaders requires the installation of cyclones in the hoppers, whose purpose is:
- To reduce the speed at which the feed enters the hopper
- To facilitate loading by reducing the speed at which the feed is deposited into the hopper
- To prevent feed breakage and dust generation
